There are of course some questions that customers ask more often than others.
How much does it cost to build a house?
The total cost for your home will vary depending on the finishes you choose and the home's location. A good rule of thumb is two and one half to three times the material package price, not including land, septic system or well if required.

How much does a set of blueprints cost?
Home Building Centre sells Material Supply Packages, not blueprints. If you purchase your Material Supply Package through Home Building Centre your blueprints are included at no additional charge.
Can I make changes to a plan?
Yes. Any one of our standard blueprints can be modified to meet your exact requirements. Visit your local Home Building Centre to discuss going through a Preliminary Drawing Process to design the home that's right for you.
Can I have a reverse plan done?
Yes. We will do a full reverse plan (not mirror image) on any one of our standard models at no additional charge!
Can I have my own custom home designed?
Yes. If you don't find any of our over 160 home designs suitable you can have a complete custom plan done. If you are buying your Material Supply Package from Home Building Centre your set of complete custom blueprints will be provided at no additonal charge.
What happens if the price of lumber goes up?
When you sign an offer to purchase for a Home or Cottage Material Supply Package you are guaranteed that the price of the Material Supply Package will not increase from the beginning of the project through completion, in the normal construction time.
Who is responsible if my package is short of material?
When you sign an offer to purchase for a Home or Cottage Material Supply Package you are guaranteed that your Material Supply Package, as described by Home's Premium Specifications, shall be sufficient to complete construction in accordance with the National Building Code and your Home blueprint or Home will supply the additonal material at no cost to you.
Can I make changes to the materials specified?
Yes. Although we have assembled a package that provides great value and quality there is always room to make changes. Some changes you may want to consider are upgrading to an engineered floor system, architectural shingle, steel roofing, or hardboard or pre-finished wood siding.
Can I get a material list?
No. Material lists will not be sold or given to a customer under any circumstance. Our Quantity Guarantee ensures the home owner they will never fall short of material.
